START UP LIBYA – Feature Doc & Series
BBC World – 2x 1hr / Feature Doc – 90mins
Start Up Libya is a feature documentary that was also quickly taken up by BBC World for a two-part series format (partly following the success of Young, Clever & Libyan BBC series from the same team).
From the rubble of conflict, a new generation of Libyan entrepreneurs is emerging. 20 teams, comprising some of Libya’s brightest young people, have been selected for the semi-finals of Libya’s first start-upcompetition. For five weeks in Benghazi, teams will develop their ideas and pitch head-to-head against their rivals. Ranging from Libya’s first registered mobile games company, to two all-female teams working for women’s empowerment, the competition is fierce. Only ten teams can make it through to the finals in Beirut.
